I'm Colin Taylor, the founder of Futureproof Dev, with over 20 years of experience in software development and technology leadership. After beginning my career in 1999 building e-commerce and financial applications in New Zealand and London, I gained extensive startup experience as founding engineer of Eforce during the dot-com era, was technical lead for IBM's UK National Lottery online subscriptions, and co-founder of Right Context, whose e-commerce platform powered millions in sales including the NZ Herald's Newspix service.

Following Right Context's acquisition by SMXemail in 2009, I progressed from VP of Development to CTO, where I architected and operated a global SaaS email security platform serving government and enterprise clients. Since 2021, I've worked with teams across Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and Southeast Asia, bringing expertise in network security, media, advertising, data analytics, and financial services.

In early 2022, I began writing a course designed to level up developers in the theory and practice of software, while also guiding them on actively managing their careers. The advent of AI, forced a period of fresh research and rework, but now after dedicating over a thousand hours to research and writing, I'm excited to launch the first classes in 2024.

The concurrent AI explosion necessitated a deep dive into AI and a new emphasis in the curriculum. Meanwhile, my consulting clients were asking, "What can we do with AI? How do we start using it?" I decided to share my AI research and insights through a new team-centric course aimed at development teams and business leaders eager to accelerate their adoption of AI and stay ahead of their competitors.
